Your blue and white iris is likely 'Mrs. Andrist', bred in Minnesota and introduced in 1919. I have seen it labeled as such at the Devonian Botanical Garden in Alberta, and have sent plants to an historic iris expert in California who identified it as such without much hesitation. It has long been grown around here without any name.
ReplyDeleteIt has the strongest scent of all my iris... no bending required because you can catch the scent from several feet away.
